It's Week 2 of Nonfiction November and this week I think is my favorite of the whole event - fiction/nonfiction book pairings! This week is hosted by Katie at Doing Dewey. This topic inspired me so much during my first time participating in Nonfiction November that I now regularly plan reviews like this during the year. During 2021, I've done four fiction/nonfiction book pairings:
What a lovely idea this is — especially the Darcy pairing — I didn’t even think about nonfiction Darcy books!
ReplyDeleteI was excited when I came across it!
DeleteI love these pairings. I've been trying to read more nonfiction but I always seem to mostly confine myself to biographies. I forget there are so many other interesting possibilities out there. That Darcy book really appeals to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Suzanne! Yes, that's the great thing about nonfiction, there's so much out there!
DeleteI'm a person who enjoys reading both fiction and nonfiction about the same topic. The two Mr. Darcy books sound especially intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing how much "real" information gets incorporated into the fiction work!
DeleteI don't read non-fiction, but I love this challenge. How fun, and Kiss My Cupcake was on your list (I loved that book)
ReplyDeleteIt's such a fun way of pairing books!
DeleteThis is a fun challenge! There's Something About Darcy is one that intrigues me by the pairing you have chosen!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a fun pairing!
DeleteThis is so great!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jaymi!
DeleteGreat pairings, I need to check those on Kennedy
ReplyDeleteThey were both fantastic reads.
DeleteI love this post idea, fiction/nonfiction pairings are so fun! The Lieutenant's Nurse seems really interesting, and it's nonfiction pair seems really informative.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jordan! Both Pearl Harbor books were quite good.
DeleteWhat a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThis is fun. I love that cover for And they Called It Camelot!
ReplyDeleteI know, such a dreamy cover!
DeleteI love that you’ve deliberately read pairings during the year. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
DeleteGreat pairings, and tempted by those Kennedy picks.
ReplyDeleteThank you! They were both wonderful reads.
DeleteI love these pairings, definitely such a fun way to bring non-fiction books to the attention of fiction readers (and vice versa)!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lindsey!
DeleteI love the Darcy and foodie pairings!
ReplyDeleteThose were both fun!
DeleteI was not aware of a Mr. Darcy nonfiction. Very interesting. A must read I think.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy it if you do decide to read it!
DeleteThis is so much fun! I love the Darcy pairing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tracy!
DeleteI love the Pearl Harbor pairing---I really enjoyed Ackerman's novel and will have to read the non-fiction book to go along with it. I also love the Kennedy pairing! Great picks!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christina!
DeleteWhat a fun idea... and I love your pairings!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tanya!
DeleteI really enjoy it when I read both fiction and nonfiction on the same subject. Thanks for the suggestions!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Joann!
DeleteThese are great pairings! Although I'm more of a fan of Captain Wentworth than Mr. Darcy. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jen!
DeleteNice pairings! I particularly liked the Kennedy edition. I agree--my favorite of the prompts so far, and I sort of do this often any way on my blog.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of Nonfiction November.
Thanks, Jane! Yes, it's a fun way to plan my reading!
DeleteGreat pairings! Kiss My Cupcake hasn't been on my radar before now, but it looks so charming.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christopher!
