Month in Review: September 2021

So September started with Hurricane Ida coming through our area.  We got a lot of rain and wind, and tornado warnings were going off constantly.  The main road into our development was completely flooded, which was so terrible for the houses and businesses down there.  My mom lives about a mile away from us, and her basement flooded just from the amount of water coming up from the ground.  Thankfully, things are getting cleaned up.

We spent Labor Day at one of my brother's houses.  The kids got to play with a lot of water activities while the adults chatted.  Work has been fairly quiet this month. I'm still working from home.  The partners and management haven't really said anything further about the reopening plan for the office, so I'm not quite sure what's going on there.  Tom is scheduled to go back full time in mid-October, and it'll be weird not having him here all day with me!

My mom and sister threw us the cutest baby shower at the end of the month.  I'm currently 31 weeks (about 7 months) pregnant with our baby boy.  It's crazy to think he will be here before the end of the year - I feel like we still have so much to do!

  3. Congratulations!!!!!!

That is quite the month! I'm sorry to hear about the flooding- that's awful. And that is nice you'r e still able to work from home- I wish more companies were still doing that, given that the pandemic is still raging, but around here many have gone back. Anyway hope it goes well the transition.

    Have a great new month!!

    1. Thanks so much, Greg! Yes, it's been nice working from home. I know they want people to come in more often, but my job is pretty independent, and being pregnant, I'm trying to stay home as much as possible.

I also read They Called it Camelot and enjoyed it. I love the cover of Royal Christmas--I feel like I need to add that one to my Christmas TBR pile.

  12. I hope the flooding issues are fixed. Kudos to your employers for continuing the work from home. Why return to the office if it’s not necessary? Um, what? You’re 31 weeks pregnant? Wow, how have I missed that? A very belated congrats!

I back at work for 4 days a week and can work from home 1 day and I'm loving that 1 day! I wouldn't mind more, but I'll enjoy what I can get haha :) Hope your back-to-work transition goes smoothly when it happens.

Yes, even one day a week at home is nice! Especially if you can pick what day it is!
