Can't-Wait Wednesday: Midnight Sun

Can't-Wait Wednesday is hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings and helps us spotlight upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating!

Midnight Sun
Stephenie Meyer
Expected publication date: August 4, 2020
When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella’s side of the story. At last, readers can experience Edward’s version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun.

This unforgettable tale as told through Edward’s eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting beautiful, mysterious Bella is both the most intriguing and unnerving event he has experienced in his long life as a vampire. As we learn more fascinating details about Edward’s past and the complexity of his inner thoughts, we understand why this is the defining struggle of his life. How can he let himself fall in love with Bella when he knows that he is endangering her life?

In Midnight Sun, Stephenie Meyer transports us back to a world that has captivated millions of readers and, drawing on the classic myth of Hades and Persephone, brings us an epic novel about the profound pleasures and devastating consequences of immortal love. - from Goodreads
I know there have been some mixed reactions to the announcement of this book, but I have to admit, I'm excited!  I still have copies of the original series, and I think it will be interesting to go back into this world!

  1. I loved this series when it first came out. I feel like I read excerpts of this online years ago? I am not sure though. I am definitely interested in checking it out again and revisiting the Twilight world.

  3. I know tons of people are waiting for this one. Hope everyone love it but I will not be continuing on. A whole book of Edward is too much for me.

  7. This series was kind of a mixed bag for me. I loved the first two books but the last two were just okay for me. I still have to admit though that I'm very curious to finally getting things from Edward's perspective.

    1. Yeah, I reread it a few years ago, and I could see how young it skewed. But I think his perspective will be interesting!

  9. I devoured the Twilight books when I was a young teen, and as silly as they may seem sometimes, I don't think anyone can deny how compelling they were for people! Definitely tempted to check this one out, I love new perspectives and visiting familiar worlds. :)

    1. Honestly, they were among the first "for-fun" books I read after college, and they helped get me back into reading!
