While I personally would never want to go to space, I'm still fascinated by it and love books that are set there. Here are my recommendations for some awesome fiction books that take place at least partially in space and two nonfiction books about space!
What are some of your favorite books set in space?
Great recs! I really enjoyed The Martian, These Broken Stars, and have Obscura and The Loneliest Girl in the Universe on my TBR. I think my favorite set-in-space series is probably The Illuminae Files, which is just such a wild ride from start to finish.
ReplyDeleteI've heard such good things about that series!
DeleteI am a fan of the Starbound series. It's structure reminds me a lot of the Illuminae Files in the way, that each book featured a different couple, but the series had an overarching plot, which I enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteI still have to read the last book in the Starbound series!
DeleteSpace is really interesting, but I’d die if I went there :). I’ve read The Martian and Good Morning, Midnight. A few of these other books are on my TBR list.

Awesome, I hope you enjoy them!
DeleteJust the thought of space is absolutely terrifying to me, but I do enjoy books about space! I have read a few of these and now have some more to add to my TBR.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I love adding things to your TBR!
DeleteYou have some good ones there. I enjoyed Old Man's War by John Scalzi. And Entanglement by Gerald Kilby is good.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check those out, thanks, Priscilla!
DeleteI only read Obscura from this list ): I fail I know. I want to read The Martian also. I really really liked Obscura.
ReplyDeleteObscura was so good! So much action!
DeleteI LOVED The Martian! I need to check out the others on this list :)
ReplyDeleteI loved The Martian, too!
DeleteObscura was awesome and I need to read The Loneliest Girl yet. Also I love the cover of Goodmorning, Midnight!
ReplyDeleteYou're going to love Loneliest Girl!
DeleteO h I loved these broken stars. That entire series. I do need to read the lonliest girl in the universe. Ash raves about that one all the time.
ReplyDeleteIt's so good, read it!!
DeleteI'm currently making my way through The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet. It's amazing so far. One of my fave space series of all time is by Rachel Bach - the first is called Fortune's Pawn.

I've heard a lot of good things about Long Way, I'll have to check these out!
DeleteThese are great recommendations! I really liked The Loneliest Girl (that twist!) and I have These Broken Stars on my TBR, it sounds so good! :)
ReplyDeleteI think you will really like These Broken Stars!
DeleteI really enjoyed both The Martian and These Broken Stars. The rest all sound good too!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHave you read Across the Universe or Glow? Glow was a little hard to stomach, because the main character was violated in unimaginable ways, but the story was solid. It was terrifying, but solid. Across the Universe I read ages ago, but haven't had a chance to read its sequel! NDT is a favorite in our house, so we have most of his books, haha. These Broken Stars is on my list, and so is Meet Me in Outer Space!

I haven't read those, I will have to check them out!
DeleteYou know, I have read some alien space romance books but can't think of one them. I know I don't read many space books. I should branch out.

I think they're really fun, so different from my everyday life!
