I think my fellow bloggers can agree with this! Sometimes it feels like I'm yelling out into the void!
ALL OF THIS. I say this all the time - I work to live, not live to work. I like my job, but when I'm done with my hours, I shut down my computer and try not to think about it again until Monday morning. Work is the way I afford the things I actually want to do!
Arguments are rarely so black-and-white; usually there's some element of right and wrong on both sides of it, and that's why as an adult, you have to learn to compromise.
Which of these is your favorite?
It is hard to pick a favourite! I think that Abbi Waxman hits the nail on the head, though! Imagine all the possibilities if we didn't have to work?! ;)
ReplyDeleteI know!! I'm always thinking about what I'm going to do when I get done with work for the day!
DeleteThat one from Waxman is so true. I enjoy my job, I am committed to it and take it seriously, but I also try to keep perspective because that is *not* my life. I definitely shut it off when I'm not working.
ReplyDeleteExactly! I'm a dedicated employee, but I don't want it to take up all my time.
DeleteAll of these are so true! I think the last one of my favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's such a good one!
DeleteThese are all great and so true. I enjoy my job but it's not my life.
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteI think the last one is my favorite. If everyone understood this better, and was more willing to look for common ground, I think the world would be a better place.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree!
DeleteOoo... All such great quotes. I feel like they have a lot to say on a surface level, but you can also pick down real deep into them too. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting, Jade!
DeleteI definitely agree with the first one! I think at a certain point I've just resorted to posting for myself and if others do care, awesome. If not... not really a big deal (even if it hurts just a little).
ReplyDeleteI think the second is my favorite as well - most people have jobs because they need to live and to pay the bills, rent, etc. etc. Bonus if they genuinely enjoy their jobs and love going to work everyday.
Totally agree about your first point, Sophia!
DeleteExactly, I'm sure most people like aspects of their job, but mostly it's just something we have to do!
Abbi Waxman is the best and her quote is so relatable.
ReplyDeleteHaha, definitely for you!
DeleteAbby Waxman is the best and also truthful in the ways you need to hear.
ReplyDeleteI really like all of these quotes, especially the argument one (so true!) and the Waxman one about work. I need to read more of her novels- I really liked Nina Hill!
ReplyDeleteYes, I've really enjoyed her books, they always have such a heartwarming feel.
DeleteOmg that first one is so relatable!
ReplyDeleteHaha, right??
DeleteThose are nice. I especially like the last two. so true!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteOh these are all so good! I definitely sometimes relate to the first one and how it feels like sometimes I'm just yelling into the void :) The second one is also SOO TRUE and definitely worth reminding ourselves regularly! And the third one, yes, definitely! So basically, I love all three of these :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, me too, Lindsey, me too!
DeleteYes, it can definitely feel like we are shouting into the void sometimes, haha.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way!
DeleteWaxman is so quotable.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteI feel that Abby Waxman quote about work so hard! The one about the internet is definitely relatable as well, lol.
ReplyDeleteHaha, right? Both are so great!
DeleteThe middle one is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteI relate so much to that one!
