Nonfiction November 2025: My Year in Nonfiction

It's time to start celebrating Nonfiction November!  The first week is hosted by Heather at Based on a True Story and is all about our year in nonfiction.  At the time I'm writing this, I've read 9 nonfiction books this year, and they've all been 4 stars or higher!  My taste in nonfiction tends to be all over the place - so many things interest me, and here are some of my favorites of the year:

My goals for Nonfiction November are to see what everyone else is reading, find some interesting titles for my TBR, and to celebrate the genre of nonfiction!  Here are some I'd like to read this month:

What are some of your nonfiction highlights from this year?

    1. It was so good, although hard to read at times!

  2. You are obviously good at choosing nonfiction you like if every nonfiction book you read last year was a book you rated four stars or more.

  5. Having served in the U.S. Coast Guard, I love a good sea story. Having enjoyed books about raising the Hunley, the Confederate Civil War submarine, and the exploration to find the remains of the Edmund Fitzgerald, I'm looking forward to reading The Ship Beneath the Ice. Happy reading to you!

  6. I also enjoyed Indifferent Stars and Nuclear War was pretty much terrifying.

  7. I've read one book (fiction) about the Donner party and think The Indifferent Stars Above is something I'd enjoy. My husband has read about Shackleton's voyage, but I never have. The Ship Beneath the Ice might be one for me to try. I tend to read more memoirs than history books, but both of these sound intriguing. Nuclear War might be too scary. We watched A House of Dynamite last week and it was very disturbing!

  12. What a great collection of books! I might like Women in the Valley of the Kings -- that's not history that I've heard about before.
