Month in Review: April 2025

April flew by!  My sister and I celebrated our birthdays, with a slightly belated family dinner.  Work was super crazy up until April 15 (I work at an accounting firm, but I'm not an accountant - this year, though, they got me involved in filing returns).  After the deadline passed, we had a little get-together and then the firm gave us all a day off!  Tom and I had to buy a new refrigerator, so that wasn't fun.  Finding one that would actually fit was a nightmare!  We had my in-laws over for Easter, and Henry had a good time.  He loved hunting for eggs so much that we had to do it a couple times!  He has been enjoying the spring weather and particularly loves seeing all the flowers blooming!  He is obsessed with dandelions (shh, don't tell him they're actually weeds!).

    1. It was good! I had some issues with it, but I liked getting Haymitch's story.

  2. April at an accounting firm has to be madness. I'm sure you're all glad when the 15th has passed. Having to buy new appliances unexpectedly is never fun. We had to replace our entire AC system last month. Ugh. I hope May is off to a great start for you!

    1. Haha, yes, it is a big relief when we get the all-clear email that everything is done!

  3. Sounds like a good month! Happy Belated Birthday! I hear you about the refrigerator. We can NEVER find one that fits due to our old house. Once we find one with the right dimensions, we have to go with it b/c it's the only option. Looks like a great reading month, too! I look forward to your reviews.

  4. You did have a good month - birthdays, Easter, getting to the end of tax season, dandelions - ha! I've actually read a couple of the books you shared above - Force Of Nature and How To Solve Your Own Murder. Both good. Hope you guys have a great May!

  5. I feel you on tax season. Our complaints have been through the roof with that as one of the drivers. It was that hard finding a fridge? I love nice, new, shiny appliances, and they have so many features now. I hope you found something great.

    1. LOL, it actually was hard! The previous owner basically built the fridge into the cabinets, so we have very little wiggle room on size. Even a standard size fridge wouldn't really fit because the opening measurements weren't truly straight. But, we eventually found something and it's working out well.
