Top Ten Tuesday: My Favorite Romance Trope

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.  This week's topic is our favorite trope/theme.  One of my favorite tropes in romance books is when royalty and "commoners" fall in love - there's just something about two people from wildly different walks of life meeting, falling in love, and finding a way to overcome their differences - bonus points if it's a forbidden love!  I actually did a Top Ten Tuesday with this theme about 5 years ago, but it seems like a great time to update my list!

What are some of your favorite royal romances?

    1. I love that book, probably because I'm such a fan of William and Catherine and this was kind of a spin on that.

  7. I actually read six of these. Runaway Princess was one I want to read though. This is a fun trope. I find the most successful ones for me temper the drama. I have read ones that made too big a deal about the difference in status.

    1. I like when the stories acknowledge that the "regular" person is going to face a huge change in their life. The Runaway Princess is one of my favorite books!

  8. I've definitely not read enough of this trope. The only one that comes to mind is Truly Madly Royally by Debbie Rigaud. Super cute YA.
