Top Ten Tuesday: My Favorite Books of 2020

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.  This week's topic is our favorite books of 2020.  I read over 200 books this year and there were a lot of great ones, but these really stood out!

Did any of these make your list?

  1. Mexican Gothic is one I didn't get around to buying and reading but I hope to in 2021!

  3. I've read two from your list and they were big hits for me. The Simple Wild, which I read in 2018, was super meaningful to me. And Verity, which I read last year, just blew my mind.

  6. You had a great reading year! Somehow the year ended without me having read the new Grady Hendrix. Hopefully I can fix that in 2021.

  7. Scythe, The Simple Wild and The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires are all on my TBR still, so I'm happy to hear you loved them!

  9. Mexican Gothic just recently made my TBR (I must have been living under a rock to have missed it). So glad to see it made your best of! :)

  12. I haven't read any of those, but Verity and Her Last Flight both look intriguing.

  13. Nice! My goal was to read 200 this year and I'm not going to make it, although I got close with 191 (possibly 192 if I finish my current read on time). Glad you got so much reading done! I also read THE SOUTHERN BOOK CLUB'S GUIDE TO SLAYING VAMPIRES this year. It's a fun read, isn't it?

    Happy TTT!

    1. That is still so many books, that's awesome! It was so fun - I don't typically read horror, but I'm glad I read this one!

  15. Yay for Mexican Gothic! And I really enjoyed Scythe too, but I really need to get around to reading the sequels soon, because it was a while ago when I read it.

  16. Seeing The Southern Book Club on your list has renewed my interest. I have seen many people not enjoy it, but I still want to give it a try.

  20. I didn't put them on my list since I went way over 10 as is was, but I really enjoyed The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires and Mexican Gothic too. The Simple Wild made my list though. That was definitely my favorite romance of the year. Scythe is amazing too. I still need to read The Toll and finish up that series.

    1. I'm hoping to get The Toll as a late Christmas present so I can finish the series! Love that The Simple Wild made both our lists!

  22. I love Scythe and still need to finish that series. I’m on a very long waitlist for the vampire book. And, I got Mexican Gothic for Christmas. I hope I like it as much as you did!

  23. I REALLY need to read the Scythe series! My husband read the first book and adored it but was sort of "meh" about the second book which I think has put me off a bit. I haven't heard much about the third book though but I think the concept of the series in general is just fascinating!

  24. I might have to give Southern Book Club a try, it sounds fun! Glad you found some great books!

  25. I still need to read Scythe! I have had it on my shelf for a year but haven't gotten to it. I'm just worried about the rest of the books because I've heard mixed things. I feel like I remember you talking about How to Choose a Guy in 10 Days so it's cool that it made your list. I'll have to check it out. I'll have to also take a look at The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. It's on my list of horror books I want to read this year. I read Hendrix's My Best Friend's Exorcism which was a bit disturbing at one point but I enjoyed it overall.

I've read Thunderhead, which was a good sequel, but I have yet to read the third book!
