Love Beyond Time: Time Travel Romances

Looking back through books I've read, I seem to have stumbled across a sub-genre of books that I've really been enjoying: time travel romances!  Part sci-fi, part love stories, the following books have all made an impression on me.

11/22/63 by Stephen King // The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon // Overseas by Beatriz Williams

Valley of the Moon by Melanie Gideon

I have a couple more on my TBR that I'm anxious to get to:

Have you read any time travel romances?  What are some of your favorites?

  1. I have not read any of these, though I watch Outlander and have seen The Time Traveler's Wife. I have read a some YA time traveling books, and I really enjoy the subgenera when I bump into it. I like seeing how the authors deal with the space-time continuum conundrum and if the characters try to change events.

    1. Yes! Overseas has a particularly interesting time-travel quandry, and it was cool to see it play out.

  2. Ah these covers are so beautiful and whimsical! I haven't read any of the books cos I'm not mad on time travelling themes, but I do plan to watch The Time Traveller's Wife sometime soon (I love Rachel McAdams).

    Great post :)

  5. Time travel books are usually hit or miss for me. One of my absolute favorites is Alexandra Monir's Timeless series. I keep meaning to read The Time Traveler's Wife (I'm pretty sure I even own a copy of it lol) but I have yet to get around to it - one of these days!

  6. Time travel can be such a hit or a miss for me! I've been reading Outlander for months now, and it's not that I'm not enjoying it - I have so many other obligations that It was shelved and sidelined!!! But I really want to get back to it and read more. I'm glad to see that you enjoyed it!

A couple that come to mind for me are Passenger and The Last Magician..

  7. I've only read Outlander from this list, but I've definitely been wanting to read more. I do have the second Outlander book ready, but I keep procrastinating cause they're so big :)
