Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is longest books I've ever read. I went through my Goodreads list and found 10 books (actually 11, but I wanted to stick to the Top Ten!) that were over 1,000 pages. And many of them came from just two series!
What's the longest book you've ever read?
Wow your long books are LONG!!! My longest didn't crack a thousand pages.
ReplyDeleteI think anything over 500 pages is long!
DeleteThe Outlander series made my list as well as did Gone with the Wind. I have never read War & Peace, but this is the book I immediately thought of when I read the TTT topic!
ReplyDeleteYeah, me too! It was definitely a chore to get through!
DeleteAfter seeing how long all the Outlander books are, I am glad I couldn't get into the first book. That's a big commitment.
ReplyDeleteThey really are. I mean, they're good, but I just reread the first one and it took me a month!
DeleteAm I the only one who really just avoids long books like this?
ReplyDeleteNo, you are definitely not!
DeleteI thought Gone with the Wind was a good read. I'd forgotten how long it is, though.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I love Gone With the Wind, but yeah, it is so long!
Deleteawesome, all over 1,000. And I'm glad to finally see a few classics. all the blogs I have visited today so far had none. My post is here https://wordsandpeace.com/2018/10/09/top-ten-longest-books-ive-ever-read/ via @wordsandpeace
ReplyDeleteThanks, Emma!
DeleteWow, it’s awesome that all of your longest are over 1000 pages. I have a hard time committing to massive books. I tend to avoid them.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thanks, Aj! I don't mind reading them once in awhile.
DeleteI never realized the Outlander books were bigger than Under the Dome. UtD looks so MASSIVE in bookstores!
ReplyDeleteOh, I know! Under the Dome is huge!
DeleteYay War and Peace!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha, yep!
DeleteWow, those are some long books! I really need to start the Outlander series at some point. I knew all of the books were long, but I must say that I didn't realize they were all that long! The only one I've read from this list is War and Peace, and I really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed the Outlander series, although it is a big commitment! I have to say, I don't remember much about War & Peace!
DeleteWow, look at those numbers! I'm so impressed with you right now. You're amazing.
ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks, Alicia!
DeleteWhoa! You've read some really long books. The longest I've read was Drums of Autumn actually. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, then you know what it's like to read long books!
DeleteMartin could have almost filled up my list too. :) But yeah those are some big books! Gabaldon's are chunksters too, and Gone with the Wind!
ReplyDeleteI know, I don't think I was surprised that so many of them were from the same authors!
DeleteOf course the Outlander and ASOIAF books are taking over this list! XD
ReplyDeleteHaha, of course!
DeleteDang girl! All over a thousand?! Go on with your bad self :)
ReplyDeleteDani @ The Restricted Section
LOL, thanks, Dani!
DeleteWow, between the Outlander series and the George R.R. Martin, that is a lot of pages!
ReplyDeleteSoooo many pages.
DeleteUnder the Dome is the longest one I've read so far! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, that was definitely a chunkster!
DeleteMy longest book didn’t even crack 800 pages, let alone 1000!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2018/10/09/top-ten-tuesday-180/
Really, anything over 500 pages is long!
DeleteAhh, I've read all those GRRM's (wish we could get more!!!) and I'm going to slowly make my way through the Outlander's as well but I can't prioritise them because I have too many review copies at the moment plus series finales that I want to reread for! :)
ReplyDeleteGosh, we read some long ones!
I know, sometimes it is really hard to fit in those long books because they take so much time!
Deletethat is so cool!!!
ReplyDelete:)
