June was a low-key but fun month around here. We took some long weekend walks, including one at Rutgers Gardens. I spent a Saturday afternoon with my sister and stepmom walking around Michael's, the craft store, getting ideas for our next projects. I went to a hibachi restaurant for the first time and it was really fun! We went on a double date with my sister and her husband to see Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. No matter how ridiculous these movies get (and this one was pretty ridiculous), I'll still continue to watch them. We ended the month with a first birthday for one of our nephews and the high school graduation party for another nephew and niece (we have so many nieces and nephews!). And, as you can see below, I got a lot of reading in!

How was your June? Do you have any summer plans?
It does sound like a fun month! Definitely a great reading month!!You got to some I still need to get to - Prince in Disguise, Radium Girls and My Lady Jane. Hope you have a great July!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Grace! I read so many good books in June!
DeleteSuch a fun month! Ahhh! Outlander! I have been meaning to re-read it again now that I read the all the book and am waiting on the next one. I thought The Husband Hour was a good beach read. I hope you enjoyed it! The Prince in Disguise looks like so much fun and I look forward to your thoughts on Bachelor Nation....now that sounds entertaining!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christina! Prince in Disguise was such a cute one, and Bachelor Nation was pretty cool!
DeleteMy mom and sister are obsessed with the whole Jurassic Park franchise. I've only seen the first one so far but one of these days I'll probably just binge them all.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had an amazing reading month! I can't wait to see what you thought of My Lady Jane and The Husband Hour.
Thanks for including me in the list of posts you loved. That made my day to see :)
You're very welcome! It was a great post!
DeleteI think the original Jurassic Park was the best, although Jurassic World was pretty good, too!
Wow, you did a lot. I haven’t gone on any hikes yet this year. I really need to do that. I need to read Princesses Behaving Badly and The Radium Girls. I’ll look for your reviews. Have a great July!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thanks, Aj! Yeah, we need to do more hiking, too, but with the weather that hasn't always worked out. It's so hot here right now with not much relief in sight.
DeleteYay for a fun month! I'm looking forward to Fallen Kingdom, but lol you're right. Those movies are ridiculous. But enjoyable all the same!
ReplyDeleteHave a great July, Angela, and I'm looking forward to your blog posts :)
Thanks, Amy! Yes, the Jurassic Park movies are like the perfect summer movies.
DeleteI still need to see Fallen Kingdom, I'm just a sucker for these movies! haha
ReplyDeleteHaha, oh, I know!
DeleteWe saw Fallen Kingdom also and... it was a movie! I definitely enjoyed Jurassic World a lot more, but I'll still buy the new one when it comes out. XD That is a TON of reading! I hope you loved My Lady Jane - that's one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED My Lady Jane!
DeleteI enjoyed Jurassic World more, too!
Sounds like you had a fun month! I love Hibachi! My daughters love it too. You got a ton of reading done. I have not unfortunately. July isn't looking and better but August is! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteMary
Thanks, Mary! I hope you get some good reading in soon!
DeleteLooks like you had a great reading month. I actually DNFed Outlander. It was good, but the dialect was such a chore to read. I just didn't have the patience. There were times I cried, because I was so moved by Hidden Figures, but I did find it a little too heavy on the technology. I am excited for the next Thousandth Floor book. I was really pleased with the direction McGee took some of the characters in the second book, and am eager to see how it all worked out.
ReplyDeleteI love Outlander, but yeah, it takes a bit to get used to the dialogue. I thought Hidden Figures was good, but maybe because I listened to it, I was confused sometimes. I actually liked The Thousandth Floor more than I thought I would!
DeleteHow is June over already?! I can't believe you had never been to hibachi before!! We should do that on our next double date.
ReplyDeleteWe should! Yeah, Tom has said for years he would take me, and we just never seemed to get around to it.
DeleteSounds like a fun month! I want to see Jurassic World, even though I'm not expecting much. :) And I haven't been to an hibachi restaurant either- one of these days!
ReplyDeleteJilliand looks fun!
Thanks for linking my post. :)
You're welcome, Greg! Jurassic World was a good summer movie - not much about the plot makes sense, but it's still fun!
DeleteI have The Thousandth Floor, but I haven't had a chance to read it! I actually own the first two books, so I should probably start them soon. <3
ReplyDeleteL @ Do You Dog-ear?
I actually liked it! It was fluffy, soapy fun.
DeleteHibachi restaurants are so much fun! And delicious! I live right near one, but I've only been there are few times because they're also expensive lol, and this one is almost always packed. Believe it or not, I've never seen any Jurassic Park movie! Sounds like you did a lot of fun stuff in June though :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was really expensive! I didn't even actually get the hibachi because I felt bad about the cost, but my father-in-law and brother-in-law got it, so I got to watch the show!
DeleteOMG, you have to at least see the original movie! It actually holds up really well.
Sounds like you had a fun month! The Jurassic movies definitely get ridiculous, but I love them anyway :) Still need to watch the latest one though. Hope you'll have an amazing July!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lindsey!
DeleteNext to the bookstore, Michael's is my next happy place. I could spend hours in there. I hope you enjoyed My Lady Jane. I think it's so ridiculous and fun and just loved it. Happy July!
ReplyDeleteI loved My Lady Jane! Haha, we definitely killed a couple hours in Michael's!
DeleteLooks like you read some terrific books! I loved Hidden Figures. And Princesses Behaving Badly is on my want-to-read list. I hope your July goes as well as June did!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lark! I hope you enjoy Princesses Behaving Badly as much as I did!
DeleteAhh, your June sounds amazing. Glad it was a fun one. I went with my hubby to see Jurassic World 2 as well and I loved it. I will forever be a JP fan too, even if they've never topped the original. However I will never complain about the addition of Chris Pratt!
ReplyDeleteWow you got a lot of good reading in! I'm jealous. I'm one of those readers who struggles to hit 80 books a year which is pretty low for a blogger... Oh well.
Hope you have a wonderful July as well Angela.
Thanks, Di! I agree, the original JP was the best! 80 is still a ton of books!
