Month in Review: March 2018

All month I kept thinking it was still February - probably because of all the cold and snowy weather we had!  Here are some of the highlights and lowlights of March:
  • I started working on my new office/library!  Painting and gathering furniture is underway - I can't wait until it's finished and I can show you all!
  • Our water heater failed and leaked water all over the floor of our utility room.  Thankfully, we were home when it happened and we caught it fairly quickly.  A new hot water heater and three days of fans blowing to dry the room out later, and we are good to go!  The joys of being a homeowner!
  • I ate way too many cupcakes with green frosting for St. Patrick's Day.
  • We saw Ready Player One and really enjoyed it!  I meant to read the book before we watched the movie, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. Maybe if I get to the book soon, I can do some sort of comparison post!

The Books:

The After Party // How To Stop Time (review to come) // In Harm's Way (audio) // The One (review to come)

The Girls of Atomic City (review to come) // She Regrets Nothing (review to come) // American Wife // The Atomic City Girls (review to come)

  4. I can’t believe March is over, and I didn’t eat a green cupcake. Ugh with the snow. I am tired of the rain and cold weather here, it has been rather chilly as of late. Glad your water heater leak didn’t cause too much damage. Hopefully, April will be wonderful.

  5. I can't wait to see the office!
We had the water heater do that to us, a couple times actually, in our old house. Adulting sucks.
RPO was soooo good. But it really wasn't much like the book. I definitely suggesting reading the book, but just be prepared for that. I actually did a comparison post that will be posted in a couple hours.
    Looks like a good month!

    1. Adulting is really hard sometimes! Just from stuff I've read (including your post!), I know the book is going to be so different from the movie, but I still had a goal of reading is this year, so I want to get to it at some point.

  6. St. Patrick's Day doesn't really get celebrated much here in Belgium BUT I did see a guy at the grocery store on that day who was wearing a green kilt and he started talking about the holiday. So that was random but fan. Haha

    1. Haha! I didn't wear green, it's more Tom's holiday than mine, but the cupcakes were good!

  8. Yeah it's fun being a homeowner isn't it? Our water heater went to a couple years ago. So much fun! Yay for the new office/ library though! That sounds awesome...

How To Stop Time looks interesting! And Three Wishes too- maybe it's time for me to read another Liane Moriarty.

    1. It never ends! I mean, we knew it was really old and was going to have to be replaced, but it kind of forced our hand.

Still slowly working on the office, just trying to find time to finish painting!

    1. I can't wait to get it done, we just seem to be more busy on the weekends than I anticipated, so it's moving slowly.

RPO was a lot of fun, we both really enjoyed it!

  11. I was trying to read Ready Player One before watching the movie too, but it hasn't happened yet and I don't think it'll be in time anyway :) Glad to hear you loved the movie and a comparison post is defintiely always fun!
I didn't celebrate St Patrick's Day, but eating cupcakes sounds like my way of celebrating :)
Hope you'll have an amazing April!

  14. Is there such a thing as too many cupcakes? And a library. That's a dream of mine. I hope it turns out exactly like you see it in your head. I see a Liane Moriarity book up there. I need her to write a new one because I read them all, and I love her books so much.

    1. I'd like to think not, but my diet would tell me otherwise!

I hope my little library turns out well; I picked out a color for the walls and I'm anxious to see what it's going to look like.

  15. Oh no, sorry to hear about the leak with the water heater. We've had that happen before and it isn't fun at all. A new office/library sounds wonderful though. You read some interesting looking books as well. Happy April to you.

  17. Decorating a new office/space is always so much fun. I can't wait to see the end result :) I'm sorry to hear about the leak but at least it got fixed quickly. Stories like that make me happy I'm not a homeowner yet lol I'm curious to hear your thoughts on She Regrets Nothing. I saw it mentioned in a People article (I think) and thought it sounded good but haven't heard anything since then.

  18. I can't wait to see your new office/library. Decorating and picking out furniture is so much fun! I've been meaning to see Ready Player One but I've been holding off since I haven't read the book. I'll probably just end of seeing without having read it. I would love to read your comparison post when you read the book- I've been hearing mixed reviews on it compared to the book. Happy reading!

We really liked the movie, and I'm hoping to get to the book later this month so I can do the comparison post!

Your new office/library sounds exciting! I hope we get pics soon.
Sorry about the water heater though. Oh no!!!

Wow! You read/listened to a lot!!! Awesome!
