Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is our favorite books of 2020. I read over 200 books this year and there were a lot of great ones, but these really stood out!
Scythe // The Overdue Life of Amy Byler // The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires // How to Choose a Guy in 10 Days
Did any of these make your list?

Mexican Gothic is one I didn't get around to buying and reading but I hope to in 2021!
ReplyDeleteI hope you love it, Stephanie!
DeleteI loved The Simple Wild, can't wait for a new book from Tucker. Happy reading! https://readwithstefani.com/top-10-books-of-2020/
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stefani!
DeleteI've read two from your list and they were big hits for me. The Simple Wild, which I read in 2018, was super meaningful to me. And Verity, which I read last year, just blew my mind.
ReplyDeleteVerity was such a crazy read!!
DeleteI really ought to read Scythe sometime.
ReplyDeleteMy post.
It was so good!
DeleteI've been tempted by Overdue Life.
ReplyDeleteI would highly recommend it, kind of a hidden gem!
DeleteYou had a great reading year! Somehow the year ended without me having read the new Grady Hendrix. Hopefully I can fix that in 2021.
ReplyDeleteI hope you love it, Jennifer!
DeleteScythe, The Simple Wild and The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires are all on my TBR still, so I'm happy to hear you loved them!
ReplyDeleteYay, I hope you love them, too, Lindsey!
DeleteI absolutely fell in love with The Simple Wild when I read it. It was funny and emotional and swoony - all things I love.
ReplyDeleteMe, too - and I love how that feel continued through the series.
DeleteMexican Gothic just recently made my TBR (I must have been living under a rock to have missed it). So glad to see it made your best of! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, hope you love it, Dani!
DeleteYaasss Verity!! My #1 read this year :)
ReplyDeleteSO GOOD!
DeleteI read Scythe a few years ago and really liked it, I still need to get to the other two books in the series.

I just need to finish up the last book!
DeleteThe Simple Wild! Verity! Those are books I loved in 2019. I totally get why they made your best of for the year.
ReplyDeleteI was a little late to the party, so glad I finally read them!
DeleteI haven't read any of those, but Verity and Her Last Flight both look intriguing.
ReplyDeleteBoth wonderful in different ways!
DeleteNice! My goal was to read 200 this year and I'm not going to make it, although I got close with 191 (possibly 192 if I finish my current read on time). Glad you got so much reading done! I also read THE SOUTHERN BOOK CLUB'S GUIDE TO SLAYING VAMPIRES this year. It's a fun read, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
That is still so many books, that's awesome! It was so fun - I don't typically read horror, but I'm glad I read this one!
DeleteGreat list! I really enjoyed Mexican Gothic, too.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a bad review yet!
DeleteYay for Mexican Gothic! And I really enjoyed Scythe too, but I really need to get around to reading the sequels soon, because it was a while ago when I read it.
ReplyDeleteI need to read the last book!
DeleteSo many great ones!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely!
DeleteSeeing The Southern Book Club on your list has renewed my interest. I have seen many people not enjoy it, but I still want to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI can see how it wouldn't be for everyone, but I thought it was fantastic!
DeleteSo many wonderful books here! I'm glad to see The Southern Book Club's Guide to Vampire Slaying represented on here. It was one of my favorites, too.
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely out of my comfort zone, but I'm so glad I read it!
DeleteMexican Gothic gets so much love. I think the Simple Wild looks great too!
ReplyDeleteHappy NY!
Haha, such different reads! Happy New Year!
DeleteI love Scythe - need to read the rest. I want to read Mexican Gothic and Verity.

Yes, I need to finish the last book!
DeleteI didn't put them on my list since I went way over 10 as is was, but I really enjoyed The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires and Mexican Gothic too. The Simple Wild made my list though. That was definitely my favorite romance of the year. Scythe is amazing too. I still need to read The Toll and finish up that series.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to get The Toll as a late Christmas present so I can finish the series! Love that The Simple Wild made both our lists!
DeleteGreat list! I really want to read Verity. I think I may try to listen to it this year. I almost added Mexican Gothic to my list!
ReplyDeleteI think you'll really like Verity!
DeleteI love Scythe and still need to finish that series. I’m on a very long waitlist for the vampire book. And, I got Mexican Gothic for Christmas. I hope I like it as much as you did!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I really hope you love Mexican Gothic, Aj!
DeleteI REALLY need to read the Scythe series! My husband read the first book and adored it but was sort of "meh" about the second book which I think has put me off a bit. I haven't heard much about the third book though but I think the concept of the series in general is just fascinating!
ReplyDeleteIt really is so unique and I can't wait to see how it ends!
DeleteI might have to give Southern Book Club a try, it sounds fun! Glad you found some great books!
ReplyDeleteI think you would really like it, Kristen!
DeleteI still need to read Scythe! I have had it on my shelf for a year but haven't gotten to it. I'm just worried about the rest of the books because I've heard mixed things. I feel like I remember you talking about How to Choose a Guy in 10 Days so it's cool that it made your list. I'll have to check it out. I'll have to also take a look at The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. It's on my list of horror books I want to read this year. I read Hendrix's My Best Friend's Exorcism which was a bit disturbing at one point but I enjoyed it overall.
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to read more from Hendrix now!
DeleteI've read Thunderhead, which was a good sequel, but I have yet to read the third book!
I'll wait on your verdict of the last book then (;
DeleteHa, well, I just got a copy as a late Christmas present, so hopefully soon!
