I don't know about you guys, but I'm glad that July is over. I'm really hoping August is a better month, overall. The weather didn't help; it was way too hot, muggy, and rainy. We did see a couple great movies (Ant-Man and the Wasp, Mission: Impossible Fallout), but that was about it.
I noticed I've been getting a lot of hits from Twitter, so thank you to everyone who has been sharing my posts over there!
And lastly, some semi-exciting news: I finally got a smartphone and joined Instagram; you can check out my page here. Right now it's set to private because it will also be my personal account, but please feel free to send me a request and I'll follow back!

How was your July? What was your favorite book of the month?
Looks like you read a lot of great books! My favorite book was The Heart Forger by Rin Chupeco. Not a lot of books came close to it!
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to have at least one GREAT book per month!
DeleteThe weather in July is so gross. I’m glad it’s over, too. I’m ready for fall. I was so excited to get my Instagram account, but now I’ve had it for 8 months and am profoundly unmotivated to use it. I hope you have a great August!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thanks, Aj! Haha, I'm still trying to get used to Instagram, I don't want to post TOO much, but we'll see!
DeleteI'm going to be watching for your review of Obscura. I saw that book recently and thought I might like it. Yes, July is indeed hot, but we've had no rain and are brown, brown, brown. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteObscura was really good! I don't know which is worse - too much rain or not enough!
DeleteLooks like a great month! I agree the weather has not been so good. Too humid for me. Hope you have a great August!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Grace! Ugh, the humidity has just been awful!
DeleteI'm sorry to hear that July wasn't that great - here it has been way, way too hot every single day, I'm getting a bit tired of it haha :) It seems like you had a great reading month though, so that's great! I loved The Loneliest Girl so much :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing my post! I hope you'll have a great August <3
Thanks, Marie! I did have a lot of good reads, the weather actually probably helped! There were so many days I didn't even want to go out in the heat.
DeleteI would like to cancel the weather. Thanks! You read a lot of good books. I am looking forward to seeing what you thought of Stay Sweet. That one surprised me in a really good way.
ReplyDeleteStay Sweet was deeper than I thought it would be, which was a nice surprise!
DeleteDid you enjoy Zoo? Do you watch the TV show? The husband and I watched the first two seasons together, but we haven't had a chance to watch the third. I love the idea of animals attacking humans and fighting back! It might be the vegan in me, lol.
ReplyDeleteLegendary wasn't my cup of tea--too many unanswered questions and secrets. I can't wait to read your reviews on Stay Sweet and Daughter of the Siren Queen! <3
-- Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear?
Yeah, we watched the tv show, last year I think? We binged it on Netflix. The book was very different! It was good, although I thought it kind of fizzled out near the end.
DeleteYay for Instagram! I'm pretty new over there too... and I still need to see Ant-Man and the Wasp.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping Obscura was good as I have that one to read...
Obscura was so good! OMG, go see Ant-Man!!
DeleteYou had an excellent reading month! I found and requested you on instagram :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, JoAnn! Looking forward to seeing you over there!
DeleteIt still cracks me up that we both joined Instagram at the same time, Great minds think alike, lol.
ReplyDeleteI really want to see Ant Man and the Wasp. I think I'm going to take my son this week since I have a couple of days off from work.
Looks like you have a great reading month. I'm looking forward to your reviews for The Loneliest Girl in the Universe, Obscura, and Code Girls.
I know, it's funny! I just happened to get a smartphone last weekend, and that was one of the first apps I downloaded. I'd been wanting to try it, now I just need to get the hang of it. I don't want to bore people with too many posts, you know?
DeleteThose reviews are coming up in the next couple weeks!
Wow, lots of reading! I am jealous of it. I am doing the challenge for Candid Cover and have read three already. I am working on Caraval now and it's really good! I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMary
Thanks, Mary! Have fun with the rest of the challenge!
DeleteYou read a lot of books last month! I'm looking forward to reading Legendary; I read Caraval in July, and I'm on the waiting list at the library for Legendary.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy August a lot more!
Thank you, Brooke! Enjoy Legendary!
DeleteSo excited you're on Instagram! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteDid you like Zoo? We've been watching the TV series, and haha I'm really hating it, although at the some time I watch it because I love to hate it ;) Lol. It's just so badly done. I'm not a fan of Patterson anyway, so I doubt I'll read the book, but I'm interested to hear what you thought...
Hope August is a better month than July was. All the best!
Thanks, Amy! Instagram has been so fun!
DeleteZoo the book was okay, it fizzled out near the end. I listened to it on audio, and the narrator was really good. The tv show was kind of ridiculous! We binged it on Netflix because there wasn't a lot else on. Definitely a "love to hate" watch!
Sheesh, I'm also thrilled that July is actually over. It was pretty crazy for me. I'm glad you're on Instagram! It seems a few bloggers are branching out now. :) I love it there and I adore all the gorgeous pics!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed Legendary more than Caraval? I can't wait to find time to read Daughter of the Pirate King! Gah. #toomanybooks
I am loving Instagram! Still trying to figure out my photos, but having fun! I probably enjoyed Legendary the same as Caraval. Hope you enjoy Daughter of the Pirate King!
