Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Reasons It's Obvious That I Love Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.  This week's topic is so fun - the signs of a book lover.  So, how might the people around me know that I love books?

  1. My Instagram feed has more pictures of books than anything else.
  2. My Christmas list is always about 90% books.
  3. I'm more likely to listen to an audiobook than the radio in the car.
  4. My weekend errands often include a trip to the library.
  5. When we moved into our house, I unpacked my books before anything else.
  6. I kept a book in my desk at work, and during my lunch break you could find me reading in the building's atrium.
  7. If I hear the word "book" come up in a conversation, even if I'm not a part of it, I'm jumping in with questions, recommendations, etc.
  8. My personal book collection is known as the "Lawrence Library" because I'm always loaning my books out.
  9. There are stacks of books on almost every available surface in our house.
  10. My dream job is to work in a library or even own a bookstore, so I can be surrounded by books all day!
How about you - what are some signs that you're a book lover?

  1. Oh I am right there with you for all of these, especially no 3 and 10. Owning a bookstore is comforting to me, like a place where I could be me :)

  2. You have no idea how much I've dreamed of owning a little bookstore with a coffee and tea bar. Alas it is not written for it to come to pass. https://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/03/ttt-033120.html

  5. I apply for library jobs whenever they pop up in my part of the world, but they must be competitive because they always reject me. I think working in a library would be awesome.

  7. So with you on the audio books in the car. I rarely listen to music in the car anymore and just recently told my husband there was no need to renew Sirius in my car again. Who needs that when I have audio books? :)

    1. Exactly! Especially when I was commuting, there was nothing good on the radio those times of day anyway.

  8. Yes, yes, yes to #10! I loved working in the library for several years and am missing my volunteering there so much! All wasn't perfect in library work, but so many things were enjoyable. I used to think 'they pay me for this!'. LOL

  9. Aside from a few IRL friends, my instagram, and Twitter feed for that matter, is all book related. I sort of love it that way. Yes to audiobooks providing the only entertainment, when I drive as well. I totally regret not getting my masters in library science. I would love to work in my happy place.

    1. I've attended so many colleges at this point that I would never go back to school, but I kind of wish years ago that I had let my love of books help point me in the direction of a different career.

  11. I love that you're so willing to loan out your books. So many bloggers are like, "Touch my books and die!" I'm somewhere in between - if I know my books will be taken care of and that I'll get them back, I'm totally willing to loan them. If not, I have to be okay with never seeing the book again before I loan it out.

    Happy TTT!

    1. Exactly! There are really only a few people that I will loan books to - if you don't return them, you're cut off!

  14. I'm the same with #10! I need my own bookstore to putter around in and talk books all day. And #7- same! If I hear the word book my ears pop up lol!

  15. Haha these are all very relatable! I also pretty much ALWAYS listen to audiobooks in the car and dream about opening my own bookshop. And I don't have a dedicated bookstagram, and yet my instagram has more pictures of books than anything else :)
