Compared to April, May was a pretty quiet month around here. We did a LOT of yard work, and now I'm obsessed with trying to keep my potted plants alive. We saw Deadpool 2 and loved it; we also watched The Week Of on Netflix, which is a comedy about the week leading up to a wedding and stars Adam Sandler. People like to knock Adam Sandler, but for some reason, I seem to love all of his movies! Speaking of weddings, I got up early and watched the royal wedding; while I wasn't crazy about Meghan Markle's dress, I loved all the flowers (especially the fact that Harry picked flowers for her bouquet himself!) and the weather looked beautiful. We had a big BBQ on Memorial Day, and everyone had a great time - we also had our first houseguest when my SIL stayed over during her visit to NJ.

Did you watch the royal wedding? What was your favorite book of the month?
I totally watched the Royal Wedding and I loved it *shrugs* I just got caught up in it all and just let myself go with it! Also, you've been busy this month!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I know, I watched for hours!
DeleteIt sounds like you had a good month. I didn’t watch the wedding because sleep is too important, but I saw the highlights. It was all very pretty and sweet.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
It was a beautiful wedding, I can't imagine trying to stay calm while the entire world watched me say my vows!
DeleteSounds like you had a wonderful month. I too watched that Royal Wedding as well. I wasn't crazy about the dress either but it was still pretty. My favorite part was the part that Prince Harry picked he's mom's favorite flower and put it all over the church as well as in Megan's bouquet!!! (My eyes may have gotten a little misty)Love anything Royal! I hope you have a great weekend. xoxo
ReplyDeletePart thriller, part superhero fantasy, the Renegades
Thanks, Helena! Yes, I get teary-eyed thinking about that as well! I love the little touches they picked to honor Diana.
DeleteWhat a month! :) Oh my gosh, Deadpool... I need to re-watch soon! I loved it so much!
ReplyDeleteI know, so much fun!
DeleteSounds like you had a great month! I didn't get up early enough to watch the Royal Wedding but paid attention to all of the coverage after the fact. I liked Meghan's dress okay, but I will say that I preferred her reception dress. I liked that halter style on her.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the halter dress was definitely more modern. I actually thought her ceremony dress would look very similar to what it ended up being - I thought she would do off-the-shoulder and very streamlined, but I thought both dresses would have a little more oomph. I guess there are guidelines they have to follow, though!
DeleteI did watch the Royal Wedding! My mom's birthday was actually the same day, so we made an event out of it and tried our hands at an "English" breakfast. Basically, it was just a normal breakfast on fancy china, haha! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, that sounds like so much fun!
DeleteOh no - I did not watch the wedding. Listen - I don't pay them taxes for all that hub-bub. They are cute together, yes. I wish them well but pay no mind. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMary
Thanks, Mary! Haha, I get it!
Deleteoh wow look at the different variety of books you read :D great reading month it seems
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lily! I did read a lot of genres!
DeleteGreat books!! I have Your Never Weird on the Internet, but have yet to read it. I love Felicia Day!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun! Maybe a little heavy-handed at times with the whole nerd thing, but I enjoyed it.
DeleteI did not watch the wedding, but I felt like I was there with how much of my feeds it occupied. Thanks for you mention of my post. <3
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, it was a great discussion!
DeleteI need to watch the wedding still! I saw that it is available on Hulu, so I may watch it eventually. The dress was a bit bleh, I will agree with you on that! It sounds like you had a busy month. Enjoy your garden and your next month of reading. :)
ReplyDeleteAh, so glad I'm not the only one who felt that way about the dress!
DeleteThank you!
I didn't know Adam Sandler was in a new movie...I tend to enjoy his movies as well! Ooo - did you like Ready Player One? I need to read it immediately and then watch the movie! Lol.
ReplyDelete--Sam @ Sharing Inspired Kreations
I did like Ready Player One, both the book and movie! We saw the movie first. They were pretty different!
DeleteWow! What a great month! I'm slowly managing a catch up on my blog (I've gone from being two months behind to only one!) so it's been a good June for me so far. I hope yours is turning out well! 😁
