4 Fantasy Series I Need to Start

I don't read a ton of fantasy, but it's a genre I've been getting into lately more and more.  I've been adding a lot of fantasy series to my TBR, and here are just four of the many that I really want to start soon:

The Ravenspire series by C.J. Redwine, starting with The Shadow Queen.  This series looks like it has dark fantasy/fairy tale retellings, starting with Snow White and moving onto Rumpelstiltskin.

Daughter of the Pirate King series by Tricia Levenseller.  I mean, it's pirates!  I don't read enough stories about pirates.

Rebel of the Sands series by Alwyn Hamilton.  I read an awesome review of the first book in the series over at Book Reviews by Di and I knew I had to read it, too.  She describes it as "the Wild West meets the Middle East with a huge fantasy spin" - that sounds amazing!  Plus, I can't get enough of that cover.

Reawakened series by Colleen Houck.  Egyptian-inspired fantasy?  Yes, please!

Have you read any of these?  Which should I read first?

  2. I've been meaning to start some of these series as well, especially Daughter of the Pirate King. Every one seems to love it, and like you I don't read nearly enough books about pirates. Great list, Angela! :)

  3. I read a lot of fantasy but haven't read any of these yet even though they are all on my TBR. I actually just got an e-book of Daughter of the Pirate King from the Library yesterday though so hoping to start that one this week.

  7. I don't read tons of fantasy either, but blogging has me adding more and more of these on my TBR, buying tons and reading so much fantasy now ahah. And I love it :) I have heard good things about The Shadow Queen and Daughter of the Pirate King, both sound really, really good, hope you'll love them! I have read mixed reviews on Rebels of the Sands though, but I am hoping you'll love it! :)

  8. I need to get my hands on Daughter of the Pirate King ASAP! And speaking as someone who totally loved anything Egypt related, I couldn't even finish Reawakened. I hated it that much. But of course I hope you will be able to enjoy it more.

    1. Oh, that's too bad that Reawakened wasn't better for you! I figure I'll just try out the first book and go from there!

  9. All four sound good, but Rebel of the Sands is the only one currently on my TBR list—though I might add one or two of the others. I hope you enjoy them all!

  10. I have been wanting to read Redwine's books, because I fell in love with her after seeing her at a con. I have read Pirate King and it is one of my fave 2017 books. It is fabulous from beginning to end.

  12. I have so many fantasy series on my TBR list. I keep putting them off because I usually don’t love fantasy. I want to read them, but other books look so much more interesting.
